27th Sep 2011 Kathmandu; Borderlands Group Celebrated 32nd World Tourism Day by actively participating in a “Morning Rally” and “Evening Thamel Street Carnival” organized by Thamel Tourism Development Committee in associate with Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoTCA), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Lions Clubs and various tourism related organizations including Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA).
The rally started from Thamel and went through different parts of the city with various cultural and musical fanfare converging at Basantapur(Old Durbar Square). Representatives of various tourism-related organizations and students carried national flags, banners with slogans (Tourism for together) for tourism promotion and hospitality, in the rally.
Nepal celebrated the World Tourism Day amid fanfare across the country under the theme ‘Tourism—Linking Cultures’ highlighting the role of tourism in bringing together cultures around the world and promoting global understanding through travel.
