Borderlands PDP organized Thematic two days Professional Development Programme (PDP) on Time Management for NCELL CR Department Team on 29th to 30 June 2012 at Borderlands Eco Adventure Resort. Team building activities and initiatives followed the icebreaking session. The team participated in various team building, problem solving and development activities,

The program focused on team dynamics with the aim of developing team members, empowering individuals, team relationship and optimal productivity. Time management, commitment to common purpose, mutual respect and good team spirit were some important issues discussed during the program. Outdoor activity also included a 3 hour hike to the historical village of Gati and the 120m Borderlands waterfalls. This trail is a part of the ancient trade route to Tibet also followed by the infamous Nepalese architect Araniko, who walked this trail in the 7th century, en route China. The refreshing splash of the waterfall added much to the enjoyment of the hike and was also referred to as the ‘high point’ by many participants.

The importance of timely delivery of services and efficiency in customer relation was also highlighted during the program. At the end of the program the participants expressed their learning from the program and how it would be applicable at work place.

Mr. Megh Ale and Mr. Sanjiv Thakuri, Directors from Borderlands Group participated in a training course on Action learning for Professional development conducted by Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) from May 29 – May 30 2011 in Kathmandu. The training course was facilitated by Mr. Neil Oliver from Oliver-Barclays partnership, UK.

The 2 day course focused on an approach to learning whereby the participants study their own actions and experience in order to improve performance. The aims of the training course was to help people interested in developing others and equip the participants with necessary skills to facilitate action learning sets. Some fundamental elements of Action learning like setting ground rules, experiential learning cycle, core qualities, skills and common pitfalls of a facilitator and Transactional analysis (TA) were covered during the training session. Some essentials on solution focused coaching and self reflection were also discussed during the training program.

The training was constructive and helpful and met all expectations from gaining knowledge of Action learning for facilitation process to being a member of an Action learning set.
